Motion Capture System
In this system, multiple special-purpose cameras utilizing infrared rays are set up to gather digital data from information received from the three-dimensional positioning of reflective markers. The reflective markers are fixed on the surface of the athlete’s body, and the detailed movements of the athlete are analyzed using location tracking. Using this system, data can be gathered on anything that the reflective markers can be fixed to.
In the past, we had used 50 special-purpose cameras to measure data over a large 35 m capture area. The Motion Capture System can be used simultaneously with force platforms, making it possible to measure the movements involved with sprinting in more detail.
